Preparation

  1. Put onions and whole spices in cold pot. Cover with lid.
  2. Heat up on medium setting/heat.
  3. Do the hand test.
  4. Lift lid and fry onions a little bit.
  5. Add rice, water and all the other ingredients including spice mix, stir and close the lid.
  6. Do the hand test.
  7. Switch to lowest setting/smallest heat and cook for about 12 minutes.
  8. Switch off the heat, stir well and keep covered for a few minutes before serving. Garnish and serve hot with raita of your choice.
